Refund policy
If the document does not work for you, we refund it. Email support@getdeedly.com within 30 days and tell us what happened. That is the whole process.
When we refund automatically
- Your recorder rejected it for a formatting or content defect that came from us, and we cannot correct it.
- Something failed to arrive. If a document did not reach you, that is our failure, not a support ticket.
- You were charged twice. We refund the duplicate immediately. Our checkout is built to make this impossible, but if it happens it is ours to fix.
- The document was not what we described.
- You changed your mind within 30 days and have not recorded it.
How to request one
- Email support@getdeedly.comInclude your order reference. It starts with DL- and is on your receipt and in every email we sent you.
- Tell us what happenedOne sentence is enough. If a county rejected the document, attach the rejection notice. It usually tells us exactly what to fix, and often we can re-issue it the same day.
- We respond within one business dayUsually much faster. A real person reads it.
- The refund is issued to your original payment methodStripe typically takes five to ten business days to show it on your statement.
Where we will try a fix first
If the problem is fixable (a name to correct, a legal description to update, a county that wants a different recital) we would rather fix it and re-issue the document free than refund you and leave you without a deed. Revisions are free for as long as we still hold your order, which is 90 days. You are of course free to take the refund instead.
What we cannot refund
- County recording fees and transfer taxes. Those are paid to government offices, not to us. If a document was rejected, ask the office about its own fee. Many refund or credit it.
- Notary fees, paid to a third party.
- A document already recorded and working as described. Once your deed is on file it has done its job.
Why this policy reads the way it does
The dominant complaint about our nearest competitor is that its satisfaction guarantee was not honoured and that support did not reply. We would rather refund a customer we could have kept than become that.
